Volunteer with KCI
Kent County Indivisible is 100% volunteer run and would love to have you work along side us in our mission to defend democracy. If you're interested in joining a volunteer team or learning more about opportunities to help out, please let us know!
How To Get Involved
There are a few different ways to get involved as a volunteer, and you can sign up to learn more by filling out the form at the end of this page. After signing up as a volunteer and chatting with a current team member, you'll be added to one or more mailing lists specifically for volunteers. These are a great way to find out about specific volunteer opportunities where we need people to show up and help.
Beyond that, we welcome people to find a way to use their talents, time and energy to help us plan and organize our the work we’re doing as well as help with a wide variety of day-to-day things that help keep KCI moving and growing.
Some examples of what we need help with:
- Researching and writing articles for our website
- Managing our social media presence
- Help managing our online tools
- Coming up with ideas for what we should do in our Campaigns, and then working with others to get them accomplished
- Developing training materials and guides for our online tools and helping people who need it
- Reviewing, editing and providing feedback on emails, posts and articles that have been drafted
- Recruiting volunteers, and then helping to get them onboard when they sign up
- Organizing events: securing locations, organizing volunteer signups, coordination, etc
- Anything else you want to do that could be helpful!

We believe in joyful and non-violent defiance. Risk assessments will be considered before all events with our Safety Team within this group. Building The Movement
We build visibility and community by forming strong, inclusive relationships and working toward shared goals with both individuals and like-minded local organizations. We recruit and train volunteers, build strong relationships with them, and keep an updated list so we can match people to tasks based on their availability. Responsible for researching and implementing creative and impactful ways to raise funds.
Communication and TechOps
Our primary goals are to get our message out and grow our community of activists. We work alongside other teams to help spread the word about current events and issues. We make sure that KCI messaging aligns with national Indivisible. We run the website, email, text and social network communications. We build and run digital tools to help amplify and enable the rest of the organization.
